The Amazing Amino Acids

Amino acids are incredible because:

  • May convert to brain chemicals called neurotransmitters: chemical messengers in the brain controlling mood, memory, emotion, feeling, and personality.
  • They provide the raw material to manufacture new cells and rebuild muscle tissue: Bone marrow makes 2.5 million red blood cells every second; every 4 days the lining of the gastrointestinal tract is replaced; most white cells are replaced in 10 days.
  • Increase stamina: The heart muscle and other organs are built and function on amino acids—neurotransmitters again are the basis for cell communication.
  • Strengthen immune system
  • Promote wound healing, in fact, special amino acids are recommended pre and post surgery:
  • Pre surgery use the branch chain amino acids: isoleucine, leucine, and valine
  • Post surgery to accelerate wound healing use arginine, cysteine, glycine, methionine, and proline
  • Curb appetite by controlling blood sugar fluctuations
  • Repair and protect the liver (The aromatic group of amino acids can be hard on the liver)
  • Reduce blood pressure
  • Lowering cholesterol and triglycerides
  • Relieve pain
  • Provide relief for ailing gall bladders
  • Fight drug addiction
  • Control Parkinson’s disease
  • Prevent insomnia
  • Can affect a variety of negative moods
  • Calm aggressiveness
  • Make hormones, e.g. in certain combinations they influence the production and release of growth hormone.

Amino Acid deficiencies are common among HRC clients. HRC has found the best way to reload our clients with these important building blocks of life is to use free form amino acids: pre-separated from the long-chain proteins they naturally occur with. Because they are in a pre-digested state, free form amino acids are easily absorbed straight through the intestinal wall without the need for digestive aids.

For maximum effect, take them on an empty stomach 1/2 hour before a meal or an hour after. Do not take free form amino acids with milk or protein drinks that will impair their absorption.

Bio-Aminos: 18 amino acids blended together.

  • L- Cysteine
  • L- Histidine
  • L- Glycine
  • L- Proline
  • L- Taurine
  • L- Tyrosine
  • L- Glutamine
  • L- Isoleusine
  • L- Leucine
  • L-Phenylalanine
  • L- Lysine
  • L- Arginine
  • L- Alanine
  • L- Methionine
  • L- Valine
  • Aspartic Acid
  • L- Serine
  • L-Threonine

L- Cysteine:

  • Helps repair tissues damaged by alcohol abuse, cigarette smoke, and air pollution through detoxification of acetaldehyde.
  • Helps maintain skin flexibility and texture.
  • Promotes red and white blood cell reproduction and tissue restoration in lung diseases.
  • Promotes iron absorption.
  • Helps prevent formation of harmful peroxidized fats and free radicals.
  • Protects lungs against cigarette smoke damage.
  • Used to treat bronchial disease and asthma.

L- Histidine:

  • Creates an anti-anxiety effect in the brain.
  • Promotes good hearing by stimulating auditory nerves.
  • Shows promise as an answer for rheumatoid arthritis.
  • Releases histamines from body stores for sexual arousal

L- Glycine:

  • Can be used as a beverage sweetener.
  • Decreases uric acid levels to reverse gout.
  • Has been shown useful in epilepsy and other conditions characterized by abnormal nerve firing.

L- Proline:

  • Can help lower blood pressure.
  • Promotes wound healing.

L- Taurine:

  • Can help inhibit epileptic seizures.
  • Helps repair muscle and tendon damage.
  • Helps promote skin flexibility, stops alcohol withdrawal tremors.
  • Is valuable in its potassium -sparing ability- keeping the heart muscle adequately supplied with potassium.

L- Tyrosine:

  • Because it is a precursor of the neurotransmitters norepinephrine and adrenaline, and dopamine, it is useful in combating depression.
  • Alas as a precursor of thyroid hormone.

L- Glutamine:

  • Produces an anti-stress effect.
  • Is useful in treating alcoholism and hypoglycemia by reducing cravings for alcohol and sugar.
  • Improves memory and dexterity.
  • Increases alertness by ridding the brain of the build up of ammonia.

L- Isoleusine:

  • Involved in stress, energy, and muscle metabolism.

Leucine

  • Stimulates insulin release and inhibits protein breakdown.
  • Both are useful in stress states of surgery, trauma, cirrhosis, fever, and starvation.
  • Involved in stress, energy, and muscle metabolism.

L-Phenylalanine:

  • Helps manage certain types of depression by increasing levels of the neurotransmitter norepinephrine, a precursor of epinephrine (adrenaline).
  • Increases blood pressure in individuals with low blood pressure.

L- Lysine:

  • Helps to build muscle protein
  • Helps those recovering from surgery and injuries.
  • Controls muscle contractions, spastic disorders.
  • Aids in calcium absorption and in maintaining proper nitrogen balance in adults.
  • Controls viral infections.
  • Inhibits growth and recurrence of herpes complex.
  • Stimulates secretion of gastric juices.

L- Arginine:

  • Triggers release of GH from the pituitary.
  • Increases sperm count, treats sterility in men.
  • Facilitates increase in muscle mass and reduction of body fat
  • Detoxifies excess ammonia, which is helpful in cirrhosis of the liver.
  • Stimulates the immune response by enhancing production of T cells.
  • Retards the growth of tumors and cancer

L- Alanine:

  • Converts quickly to usable glucose and prolongs blood sugar stability. (Helpful for hypoglycemics)
  • Reduces elevated triglycerides in diabetics.
  • May be helpful in preventing seizures.
  • Combined with high doses of B6, plays an important role in reversing immune deficiency by reproducing lymphocytes.

L- Methionine:

  • Removes excess brain histamine that can cause depression and compulsive/obsessiveness.
  • Prevents deposits and cohesion of fats in the liver.
  • Acts as memory builder by synthesizing choline.

L- Valine:

  • Promotes muscle coordination and proper functioning of the nervous system.
  • Promotes mental vigor.
  • Low serum valine is consistently found in patients with anorexia nervosa.

Aspartic Acid:

  • Highly concentrated in the brain, it is frequently low in unipolar depression.
  • Protects the liver; helps detoxify ammonia.
  • Promotes uptake of trace minerals in the intestinal tract.
  • New research points to aspartic acid as having a bigger role in creating brain energy metabolism, than as a neurotransmitter.

L- Serine:

  • Is a derivative of glycine.
  • May cause psychotic reactions and elevated blood pressure.
  • Enhances the effects of opiates (morphine etc.) and may be useful for pain relief.
  • A high serine to cysteine ratio is a clinical marker for psychosis.

L-Threonine

  • Threonine is found in high concentrations in the heart, skeletal muscles and central nervous system.
  • Helps to maintain the proper protein balance in the body, as well as assist in the formation of collagen and elastin in the skin.
  • Is involved in liver functioning (including fighting fatty liver), lipotropic functions when combined with aspartic acid and methionine as well as assisting the immune system by helping the production of antibodies and promotes thymus growth and activity
  • Other nutrients are also better absorbed when threonine is present, and it has also been used as part treatment of mental health.
